Glossbox (USA) Review January 2013

So after waiting what felt like forever I finally got my Glossybox in the mail today. 2 days after January was over, but whatever it was worth the wait.

So basically what Glossybox is, is it's a monthy subscription service that at $21 a month sends you 5-6 deluxe beauty samples. With Glossybox you almost always also get a full sized item.

Was this month worth the $21? We will see.

So this month's theme was Winter Survival and it included some of the Man Repeller's favorite items. Honestly I think it was more a Man Repeller box, then a winter survival kit, but hey it was still a nice box.

This is what the boxes looked like this month. They are usually pink.

Inside you get a magazine. It talks about the Man Repeller and some beauty trends.

Then this is the outside of the card. A note from MR.

Then you open it and it tells you what's inside your box.

I'm sorry I didn't take a picture of all the items together, I was kind of in a rush.

The first item is a Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara in Extreme Black. *The tube is black in real life, not blue*. Full size is .27 oz and is $25. The size I got is like what you would get in a bonus bag from them. I haven't used this actual one yet, but I've used other Estee Lauder mascaras and have loved them, so I'm excited to try this!

Then there is the Fresh Unbrian Clay Mattifying Serum. The full size is $35 for 1 oz. The sample I got is .17 oz. It says it clarifies, tones, purifies, and hydrates so even though I don't need mattifying I might give this a try and see if it helps with anything else.

Then there is a foil packet of the Le Metier De Beaute Replenishing Daily Solution. The full size is $225 for 1.17 oz. I'm super excited to try this! Plus I can probably get a good amount of usage out of this since the sample size is quite large for a foil, .10 oz. I won't ever be able to buy this, but it will be fun to try.

Then we have the Narciso Rodriguez for Her Eau De Toilette Spray. The full size is $77 for 1.6 oz. The card says this about it: "A fragrant harmony of music, intimately refined with a floral facet developing gently and slowly, rounding out into the feminine warm tones of sun-kissed skin, dusted in soft, velvet-like sensuality." I think this smells like my grandma, not in a oh it's an old lady perfume, but in the I swear this is the perfume my grandma wears way. Its not a bad smell, and I'll probably be the only one who thinks that about it smelling like thier grandma. I'd say its light and floraly. It smells good, but I probably wouldn't buy because I'm not a fan of floraly perfumes and this is definatly leaning on the heavily floral side. It will be fun until the sample runs out though.

Then we have the OPI Liquid Sand Nail Laquer in"Can't let go". Full size is $9. *This is a full size!* I love this polish! It is a beautiful purple glittery color. It has chunks of glitter in it and when you touch it, it has a cool gritty sand texture. As soon as I saw it online I knew I had to have it, so I was soooo excited to be getting it in a glossybox! I love this!!!

This is a better picture of just my nails. I used two coats and no topcoat, just like the instructions say.

Then there is the Sebastian Professional Potion 9. Full size is $19 for 5.1 oz. The sample size is 1.7 oz. It's a hair product. I don't do much with my hair, however it says that if I apply it to damp hair it will give me soft movement and a silky touchable look which I can always use. Hopefully it does that and doesn't make my hair crunchy or anything else that some hair products do.

The last item in my box is the Tarte Glamazon Pure Performance 12-hour lipstick in Fierce. The full size is $26 and I recieved a full size!!! Man I love this lipstick! I've been wearing it since about 4 and I drank water and even ate and my lipstick looks the same. This is very pigmented! I just used a little dab and bam! a big shot of color. Also I don't think its all that drying, but I was wearing chapstick before I put it on, so that may have something to do with it. I fell like this is more of a lipstain however. It is really matte, which I find that most lipsticks have at least a little shine to them, but that just makes this even better! I love this product and I've always wanted to try red lipstick and a Tarte product so this is a double win!

Overall I paid $21 and just in full sized items alone I got $35 worth of products *I know its more, but I suck at figuring out how much a sample costs*. Even though Glossybox's shipping was super slow this month I am really happy with what I got. The full sized items are things I was planning on buying anyway, and its always fun to try samples!

Me likey!

What did you think of this month's box?
