Beauty Joy Box Review April 2015!

Hey guys! So today I'm reviewing a new subscription for you and that is Beauty Joy! My mom has been receiving their boxes for a couple months and I've been super impressed so I just had to sub.

Beauty Joy is $15 a month and includes a mix of beauty products and one piece of jewelry every month.

Aren't their boxes super pretty? They aren't really good for reusable storage, but they'd make nice gift boxes.

The information card.

The first two items are Paul Mitchell's Awapuhi Wild Ginger Moisturizing Lather Shampoo and Keratin Rinse Cream. These are 1 oz and go for $4.99 (together). These smell exactly like ginger! I'm always pretty meh receiving hair products, but at least these are usable for me (i.e not hair oil!)

The next item is a Too Faced Sweet Sun Shine Lip Gloss in Mocha Freeze. This is full sized and goes for $14.40. I love Too Faced and I've never tried their glosses before. This one is pretty glossy and is a nice my lips but better shade.

The next item is a Tocca Body Cream in Grapefruit and Cucumber. This is 2 oz and goes for $5. Tocca is another brand I was really excited to see in a box and I can always use more lotion! I really like the scent of this too, even though it smells more like cucumber soap then grapefruit!

The last item is the jewelry item and it is a pretty brown stone bracelet. According to the info card this is valued at $8. I really like wearing bracelets like this layered with other ones so this was a nice piece for me to receive!

The total value of this box is $32.39. That's great since I only paid $15 for the box. Plus I like and will use everything included. I'm also impressed with the brands that have been included in their boxes, so I think Beauty Joy is a win! (:

Ipsy Glam Bag April 2015 Review

Hey guys! So today I have a review of my Ipsy bag! I haven't been subbed to Ipsy in about a year, and it looks like they've changed their bags quite a bit. (To me, it seems like they send more quality products and they also have more variations.)

Ipsy is $10 a month and like Birchbox, they have a bunch of different variations each month, but they are definitely more makeup heavy in my opinion.

Each month they come with a card, but it's usually just a card describing their latest giveaway instead of an information card.

This is the bag this month. It is a woven material and I think it's pretty cute. Unfortunately I never use my ipsy bags, so this will just go into some random spot in my basement.

The first item is a Lather Ultra Light Face Lotion Moisturizer. 1 oz $10.50. I'm pretty meh on this product. I will totally use this product, but it's just not exciting, since as someone with dry skin I already have 5 billion moisturizers.

The next item is a Julie G nail polish in Damsel. Full size $3.99. This is more hot pink then the fushia I was expecting so I am actually pretty excited to use this! Plus I always love trying out new cheaper brands of nail polish since I am a polish fanatic.

The next item is The Balm Nude Dude Eyeshadow in Flirty. $3.75? I'm so happy I got the color I wanted! It's a really pretty purpley rose gold color. Plus I love The Balm's packaging. It's so adorable and vintagey.

Then there is a Starlooks Satin Finish Lip Gloss in Cuddle. $3? I don't really like lip gloss, but I like the color I recieved as well as the Starlooks brand so I'll totally give this a try!

The last item is an Aromachology perfume in Sophisticated and Sensual. 5 ml $7. This is totally my favorite item in the bag! I love that it is such a nice size and it also comes as a rollerball. This is such a light floral fragrance with a hint of grapefruit and it just smells so amazing!

Overall my bag is worth $28.24. I think that's great since the bag was only $10! Plus with the exception of the moisturizer and the lipgloss I'm really excited for everything in my bag so it has great personal value to me as well! (:

Birchbox Mad Men Box Review April 2015

Hey guys! So today I have a Birchbox review for you guys. Birchbox was the only box I had for awhile there, and there are quite a few reasons why! So let's look at those before we get into the box.

For one thing Birchbox is only $10 a month, and since you get 10 points every time you review a product (and 100 points = $10 to spend in their shop!) it's really like you're only paying $5 a month (or even less depending on how many items you get in your box that month.) Plus I feel like Birchbox always sends quality items and I tend to generally really love my boxes, especially after I use the products!

Birchbox also gives you a chance to customize your box a bit. Every month they send a pick your sample email containing three samples you could choose from, or even a curated box! This month they did a collab with Mad Men for their final season, and they had two different curated boxes to choose from, a NY and a CA one. This is a review of the CA one. (:

Anyway now onto this month's box!

The box designs were all designed by Rifle Paper Co this month, so of course the box is super pretty! (:

This is the information card. It tells you what the product is and how to use it, which is always super helpful!

The first item is the 12 Benefits Instant Healthy Hair Treatment. 1.5 oz $5.25. I love any type of hair treatment that helps damaged hair, so I was excited to get this! Plus it smells really good and is a really nice sample size!

The next item is Not Soap Radio Bathing with Sharks. 1.2 oz $1.41. I was really looking forward to getting this because I love this brand! In my head I was hoping it smelled like Avon's old sea scent, but it smells almost fruity to me (like fruit mixed with beach if that makes any sense?) I still like the scent though!

The next item is the Cynthia Rowley Brightening Illuminator. 0.04 oz $10.18.  I can't believe that this little sample is a third of the size of a full size one! I love getting illuminators because I use them almost daily in my makeup routine, but I still haven't found my holy grail one. I have high hopes for this one because I love the Cynthia Rowley brand! Her eyeliners are totally my holy grail liners. Even though this sample is tiny I pretty much only highlight my cheekbones and nose so this sample should last for a couple weeks worth of uses.

The next item is a Laqa & Co Lip Lube in Honeypot. I'm estimating this a half size? $10. I have a couple other Lip lubes and I do like them. They are pigmented and they are also really moisturizing.  This color is totally more of a my lips but better shade on me, so it will probably end up in regular rotation.

The last item is the Clean Original Eau De Parfum. $2.53. I was so looking forward to this product because I really like most of the other Clean scents I've smelled, but this one almost makes me want to throw up. It smells way to much like lemony cleaning soap to me and I don't really like it.

All totaled my box has a value of $29.37. I think that is great since really I only paid $10 for the box! After really looking at the items I am much more impressed with my box then I was upon first glance and I think I'll use everything (except the perfume which I'll likely give to my mom.). So this month was another win for me and Birchbox. (:

Fab Fit Fun Spring 2015 Box Review!!

Hey guys! So it's been a super long time since I posted, but long story short I had some personal issues going on that made me cancel all my boxes except for Birchbox for the past year, but now I'm back! I don't sub to  as many boxes as I used to, but there should still be about 5 or so reviews a month (sometimes more). (:

The first box I decided to review is one that's actually new to me and that's Fab Fit Fun!

FabFitFun is a quarterly box and is $50 a quarter. So it really isn't that expensive! They're a mix of lifestyle, fitness, and beauty products and they always throw in a nice fashion item too. I was really excited to get this box based on the spoilers, so let's see how it is. *Btw photo quality will improve over time. I used my phone to take these pictures.

FabFitFun ships via Fedex Smartpost and it took about a week and a half to get to me.

This is what their box looks like! It's actually smaller then a Popsugar box, but still a good size.

This is their info card. I really like that it has a grand total on it, since even when I wasn't reviewing my Birchbox I was always looking to see what my value was!

The first item is a Jules Smith Scarf in the watercolor print. This goes for $42. I wanted the other print more, but I do still really like this one! It's great for spring and I have a lot of clothing that will match this really well. It is a bit smaller then I expected though, so I'll probably end up wearing it more as a headwrap.

Then there is the Miracle Grow Gro-able Seed Pod. This goes for $1.49. This is so cute! I really wanted to do a garden this year and this little basil pod is a perfect thing to put in it! Plus it's guaranteed to grow, so even I can't mess this up. (: Is it sad that this might be my favorite thing in the whole box?

Then there are the Rifle Paper Co Citites Coasters Set. This goes for $16 and also came with a 25% off coupon to Rifle Paper Co that I totally already used. These are beautiful! Unfortunately I don't have much of a use for coasters, especially cardboard ones that would likely get ruined if I actually used them as coasters. I do really like the little box they came in though and will totally put that on my dresser.

The fit item in this month's FabFitFun is a Merrithew Intense Body Blast 3 DVD Set. This set goes for $35.95. I still have about 20 pounds left to loose so I'm going to start using this asap. I love getting workout dvds because they're alot more practical for me and my fitness routine then getting something like a gym bag.

Then there are two Orly products. The first is the BB Creme. This goes for $15. I love Orly products and because my new job puts alot of stress on my nails I'm super excited to try this and see if it fixes my nails.

The other item by Orly is one of their nail polishes in Cake Pop. This goes for $8.50. When I first saw this in full box spoilers I was sorta disappointed because it looked a lot more creamy white then it really is! In person it's a really pretty light pink that's perfect for spring and I'm a lot more happy with it then I initially was.

The next item is the Palmetto Derma Collagen Booster and Restoration Serum. This goes for $48. So in December I found out that using collagen based products does amazing things for my skin! (Which is super dry and when it gets too dry I end up getting some really small fine lines.) So when I found out I was getting this I got super excited to try it! I'm currently working through another full sized serum, but this one is definitely next up on the list!

Then there are two makeup brushes by OFRA. There is a #11 brush which is for eyeshadow and a #20 brush for concealer/foundation. These go for $45.90. I really love getting tools in subscription boxes and these brushes are super nice! Plus I really needed a new concealer brush so it was great receiving one in a box.

The next item is the Bling Tattoos which go for about $2.31. (The card lists these as going for $36, but since these aren't even the Yasi ones I'm going with the amazon price.) I am so disappointed in these! I was probably the only person in the world who was actually looking forward to getting these and I get my least favorite variation. I like the smaller ones for the sides of my fingers and the bracelets are cool, but the big triangle pieces I don't care for at all (but I'll probably end up wearing them on my feet)

The sponsored item this month is Cosmos Creations Salted Caramel Premium Puffed Corn. These go for $1.49. My boyfriend thought these tasted really good, I on the other hand didn't really care too much for the texture.

This is all the giftcards. There's a $40 Hello Fresh one, a $25 Merrithew one, a $125 Vow to be Chic one, and then a free app that's supposed to help you grow your little seed pod. I unfortunately have no use for any of these, except the app download.

Overall, not including the coupons, my box is worth $216.64. That's about $60 off what the card says, but whatever the value is still incredible for the cost and I'll use everything in the box except the coasters (but because I'll use the box and the coupon, it's still okay.) I really liked this box and I'm super excited for the summer one!

Victorian Disco Sub Box Review January 2014!!

Hey guys! So I have a new subscription to review for you guys and this one is Victorian Disco's sub!

Victorian Disco Cosmetic's sub is $13 a month and it is an indie sub. Kinda like Ophelia's Apothecary, but more focused on makeup instead of skin products. The sub includes a full size color of the month, a full size that is exclusive to the box, extra samples and extras. I adore Victorian Disco's eyeshadows, so I was super excited to hear about her sub.

She puts her stuff in little black mesh bags.

The thank you card.

The January color of the month is Resolutions I Won't Keep. This goes for $5.75. I don't wear pink eyeshadow too often, but I found a couple tutorials on YouTube and I definitely think that this can look good in certain ways! I'll probably try something out with this for Valentine's Day!

The full size for January subscribers is in the shade Unacceptable! This goes for $5.50. Again I don't really use yellow eyeshadow, but I found some nice looks online as well and I'm excited to try it out. Her shadows are really pretty, pigmented, and sparkly! I use them over some type of base (such as NYX's Big Eye Pencil in Milk) and they really pop!

The next item is a sample of a Lipgloss in Daedra. This isn't available yet? But I really like it! It wasn't sticky and it is a really nice pink shade! I think this was probably the most exciting thing in the sub for me because I was expecting all eyeshadow, so it was cool to get something else! (:

Then I got two sample baggies. One is an eyeshadow in Oh My Glob ($1). The other is a blush in Dragon Flame (also not available yet.). I love the eyeshadow color! From the online swatch is looks like a super pretty purpley grey color (actually now that I think about it maybe more Orchid like Pantone's color of the year?). Either way it's a great spring shade! I love the blush as well! It's a pretty orangey color, but when blended out it looked really nice on my skin!

All totaled my box is worth $12.25 (plus the lipgloss and the blush sample and shipping was free). Anyway this was a great deal and I am so happy I subbed! I got things in colors I'd never buy for myself and I am really excited tha this was more then just eyeshadow! I am so excited for the February box (which is sold out) because she said that she went a little crazy with it!

Glossybox Review January 2014!!

Hey guys! So I finally got in my January Glossybox Saturday, and I'm excited to show you guys what I got!

Glossybox is $21 a month and they send out deluxe and full size hair, makeup, skin, and nail products from more high end brands. I think they send out a good selection of foreign brands as well as smaller brands too.

Even though this month the boxes were super late, they usually come much earlier. I usually get mine the 3rd week of the month.

I love their boxes. They are so sturdy and are great to store things in!

The info card.

The first item was actually the first spoiler they released and it  is the Beauty Blender Pure ($19.95) and a sample of the Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser ($3.98). I was so excited for this item! I've always wanted to try a real beauty blender (I have a couple of the knock offs)! I haven't used this yet, but I will probably end up using it this weekend, when I have time to figure out the correct way to do so. I also like that they included a sample of the cleanser.

The next item is Vichy Aqualia Thermal Rich Cream. This is .5 oz and goes for $9.17. I've been using this since Saturday and so far I can say I'm not super impressed (especially since a lot of people were saying how amazing it was after one use). But I think that my Aveeno moisturizer does a much better job moisturizing.

Then there is a BellaPierre Cosmetics Mineral Blush in Desert Rose. This is .17 oz and goes for $12.78. I've been obsessed with blush lately, so I was excited to get this! This is a pretty tannish pink shimmery color, that I think will look a lot better on me when I have a tan, so I'm going to put this away until spring/summer. (Which is fine since I have about a billion other blushes to use anyway.)

The next item is a Balance Me Super Toning Body Wash. This is 1.7 oz and goes for $6. I received a lipgloss from this brand a few months ago, and I didn't really like it, so I wasn't super thrilled to use this. However it's body wash, so it will get used as long as it isn't super drying. I do think the smell is kinda strange, it smells like ginger ale poured over some flowers or something.

The last item is a Toni & Guy Casual Sea Salt Texturizing Spray. This is 2.5 oz and goes for $4.99. I was so excited to know Toni & Guy was going to be in this box! I've been wanting to try their products. I love sea salt spray because I have naturally wavy hair and I think it just gives my hair that extra boost. The smell kinda gave me a headache though (it smelled like hair dye mixed with flowers), but I can overlook that since this made my hair look pretty!

All totaled my box is worth $56.87. That's a great deal since I only paid $21 for the box! I love Glossybox, they are one of my favorite boxes! I love that they include foreign brands, and just brands and products I want to try! I did cancel for February though because I haven't like the spoilers they've sent out so far, but I'd still totally recommend Glossybox to everyone, even with the crappy shipping last month.
