Glossybox October 2013 Review! Glossybox + Brydie box!

Hi guys! Today I have my Glossybox review for you guys! This month was a partnership with Byrdie. Now normally I love the collab boxes the best, but this month well I already knew I wasn't going to like because of the spoilers. I was hoping my opinion would change after actually seeing the box, but well we'll get to that.

This is what their boxes looked like this month. A charcoal grey color with white writing.

This is the info card. This month a coupon code was also included (it's 40% off a $50 purchase to Sesha.) The information cards didn't give the usual paragraphs this month, just the sames and prices of the product.

The first item is a full size Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Mascara. This goes for $23. I actually have a mini of this somewhere and I'm not sure why I waited so long to use it. I used, this one, today and I can not believe how long and full my lashes look. It is amazing! I think I found my HG mascara!

This is what the brush looks like. Which according to a little insert that came with the mascara it is a 360 degrees volu-flex brush. I don't really care what type of brush it is, it is amazing!

The next item is aFull Size Balance Me Shine On Tinted Lip Salve in Super Soft Beige. This goes for $7.99 on Ebay, which was the only place I could find it. I haven't actually tried this yet, but I'm not sure if I'm going to or not. I hope it's sheer, because if it really is a brown color I will not be wearing it, since I'm not a big fan of brown lip products.

The next item is a Bvlgari Eau Parfumee Au The Vert. This goes for $1.05. I really like getting a miniature bottle instead of a spray bottle. I think it is so cute! Okay it's a bit sucky to have to pour it instead of spraying it, but it is so cute I don't even care! This has a nice clean floral scent that I do really like.

The thing is this is the third collab box Glossybox has done this year. All three have had Bvlgari products and all three have had Tarte products. While I've enjoyed all the products that I've received from both of these brands, it makes me wonder how much input the people who are curating the box have. Also I would have loved to see some different brands instead of the same brand over and over again.

The next item is a Sesha Renu Exfoliating Gel. This goes for $16.80. This is quite a nice sized sample. I'm pretty excited to try it. It has papaya enzymes and well I tend to like things that has mango/papaya ingredients in it, so I have high hopes for this!

The last item is a Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream. This goes for $14. Glossybox why in the world do you have us fill out a profile if you won't even follow it? I get it, this is a subscription box. I'm not going to like every item I get. Every month won't be the best. But this is the second item 2 months in a row that I am going to give away. I don't need an anti aging product! I know all about prevention, but I really don't want to start any type of prevention until I'm at least 20! I just I don't think I'd care so much about not following a profile, if there was no profile, but there is a profile so I care.

I'm sorry I didn't take a group picture. I ended up cancelling my Glossybox subscription. It's a bittersweet ending. On one note I'm happy to have $21 a month to spend on something else, since yeah every month I get my money's worth, but at the same point there are always at least 2 products I don't really like, and I haven't been too impressed with any of the recent boxes. The bitter part is that Glossybox was my first box and they will always be a bit special. Oh well I guess it's just time to say good bye.

I would still totally recommend Glossybox. For me they've always had great CS and I've never had a problem with any of the boxes. It's just more of what the actual items are type of thing.

Beauty Box 5 October Box Review!

Hi guys! Today I have a review of a box that I got in last week and it is Beauty Box 5!

Now I don't have many boxes anymore, I have this one, Ophelia's Apothecary, Ipsy, and Glossybox (which I will possibly be canceling for Lip Factory next month). Then I usually skip Julep, but I do technically still have that one. And I just used Bondi's code for a $1 box from them. I had to cancel some because Christmas is coming up and I have tons of people to buy for.

Anyway, back to the box. Beauty Box 5 is only $12 a month and they send a lot of known brands, with a few more indie style brands. The thing I always like most about their boxes is how usable everything is! Which is why I've kept my subscription. I like getting things that I would actually go and buy and then sometimes getting something fun too!

I love their pretty blue boxes!

This is their cards. On the back it tells you what products you get and it also usually tells you if there are any coupons!

The first thing I got is a pair of glittery toe separators by Swissco. These go for $2 a pair. I'll admit, I've never used toe separators when I apply toe nail polish simply because I never get polish on any of my other toes. But hey, these feel very spa like, so next time I have a spa night I'll use them!

The next things is a pack of the La Fresh Travel Lite Facial Cleansing Wipes. This comes with 8 wipes and goes for $2.49. I love cleansing wipes! I use them every night, so these are always great to have on hand. I actually have a big packet of the La Fresh makeup remover wipes that I got from TJ Maxx, so I'm excited to try these!

The next item is a Nubar Alter Ego Nail Laquer in Blondie. This is .25 oz and goes for $4. I love glitter topcoats and this one is super pretty and glittery. Plus I know that this is my only glitter polish that looks like this, so score there too! I applied this over my Topshop nail polish in Mermaid, and it looked so pretty and futuristic. I loved it! (I could not find this color on their website.)

The next item is a Model Co Cheek and Lip Tint. I'm not estimating this at all mostly because I know I'm never going to use this item. I got a full size in a Glossybox months ago and I hated it! It is way way too sheer, but yet it stained my brushes and my hand and if I put a small drop on my cheek it left a big round blotch, so I think I'll just stick with my other cheek tints. Sadly this product was a waste to me.

The last item is an Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion. It is 1 ox and goes for .87. I love Aveeno products! They are affordable, but are super moisturizing. I'm keeping this mini in my purse!

The total value of this box is $9.36. While that's not a great value I did like this box because it introduced me to a new nail polish brand and it gave me some great basic items. I did end up getting an item that I loathe, but that's not BB5's fault! I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to be keeping them, but like I said I do enjoy getting their basic items!

Zoya Mason Review and Swatches.

Hi guys, sorry for the lack of posts! I recently got a new job and so did my hubby, so it's been harder to find time to do a bit of blogging. However I'm going to try hard to do posts at least twice a week. Probably on mine or David's day off, so expect one every Thursday and some other day!

Today I have swatches and a mini review of the polish I got in last month's Ipsy bag. I got the Zoya polish in Mason.

I'm sorry both of the pictures are super glarey. These were the best I could get.

The color is super pretty, however I'm just not in love with it. It's great for the fall, but I guess my thing is that this is a color that would be awesome on my toes, but it just doesn't work on my hands.

Also the wear time on this seems pretty awful for Zoya, I put this on at about two this afternoon and all I did was some light shopping and chasing Gabe around the play thing at the mall, not very nail stressful, and I already have some chipping around my tips! Sad!

The best part about the whole thing, besides the fact that I know have another pretty toe nail color, is the awesome code that Ipsy gives out when Zoya is included in the bags!

I would recommend Zoya polish, however just not this particular shade.

Ophelia's Apothecary October 2013 Box Review!

Hi guys! Today I have a review of my all time favorite subscription box: Ophelia's Apothecary!

Ophelia's Apothecary is a box curated by an Etsy seller, who now has her own website. All her stuff is homemade, but it is amazing! Boxes are $15 a month, and you always get a nice assortment of items!

She ships all her boxes in a bubble mailer, and this is the bag that was inside it! (It was tied and made to look pretty of course, but I already opened mine!)

This is the information card. I love her info cards btw, they are just amazing! This month the box has a breast cancer theme.

The first two items is a beautiful pink bracelet that has an angel charm on it and a little pink ribbon. I really love the bracelet! It will be beautiful layered or by its self. I'll probably put the little pink ribbon on a chain and put it in my car. My grandmother had breast cancer twice, and both times she recovered from it, so it will be a strong reminder to me to get regular exams and to make sure to see a doctor if anything seems weird.

The next item I'm totally in love with! It is a little gift card from www.sentimentalist.etsy.com. I love this! I'm not too sure who I'll give it too, but it is such a great quality card! I'm already planning a Christmas card order from her, since those seem equally as nice and are super cute!

The next item is a sample of the Pink Chiffon Whipped Body butter. This smells super sweet and somewhat fruity. I love it!

This also seems super thick and moisturizing, so I'm super excited to try this and see how it helps my super dry skin!

The next item is a Pink Frosting Lip Balm. I love getting lip balm, and I like the little tub this comes in. I will probably use this at night before bed with a lip brush, so I don't get a bunch of bacteria in it though. This does really smell like frosting! I just love how her products smell! They all smell amazing!

The next item is a Pink perfume oil. This smells very nice. Like flowers and fall and I can already tell I'm going to wear this a lot! I've gotten a couple other perfume oils from her and they have all been amazing!

The last item is a Pink Sugar Luxe Body Splash. This smells just like candy, actually a lot like cotton candy. This isn't my favorite scent, but I do like it a lot.

That's it for my box. I don't do a total value really for her box, since I always feel like I get my money's worth! This box is my fave. I love her products, and her customer service is great. I'm so excited for my Christmas card order, and I just love this box! If you like homemade/indie type brands you need to try her box! (:
