Glossybox October 2013 Review! Glossybox + Brydie box!

Hi guys! Today I have my Glossybox review for you guys! This month was a partnership with Byrdie. Now normally I love the collab boxes the best, but this month well I already knew I wasn't going to like because of the spoilers. I was hoping my opinion would change after actually seeing the box, but well we'll get to that.

This is what their boxes looked like this month. A charcoal grey color with white writing.

This is the info card. This month a coupon code was also included (it's 40% off a $50 purchase to Sesha.) The information cards didn't give the usual paragraphs this month, just the sames and prices of the product.

The first item is a full size Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Mascara. This goes for $23. I actually have a mini of this somewhere and I'm not sure why I waited so long to use it. I used, this one, today and I can not believe how long and full my lashes look. It is amazing! I think I found my HG mascara!

This is what the brush looks like. Which according to a little insert that came with the mascara it is a 360 degrees volu-flex brush. I don't really care what type of brush it is, it is amazing!

The next item is aFull Size Balance Me Shine On Tinted Lip Salve in Super Soft Beige. This goes for $7.99 on Ebay, which was the only place I could find it. I haven't actually tried this yet, but I'm not sure if I'm going to or not. I hope it's sheer, because if it really is a brown color I will not be wearing it, since I'm not a big fan of brown lip products.

The next item is a Bvlgari Eau Parfumee Au The Vert. This goes for $1.05. I really like getting a miniature bottle instead of a spray bottle. I think it is so cute! Okay it's a bit sucky to have to pour it instead of spraying it, but it is so cute I don't even care! This has a nice clean floral scent that I do really like.

The thing is this is the third collab box Glossybox has done this year. All three have had Bvlgari products and all three have had Tarte products. While I've enjoyed all the products that I've received from both of these brands, it makes me wonder how much input the people who are curating the box have. Also I would have loved to see some different brands instead of the same brand over and over again.

The next item is a Sesha Renu Exfoliating Gel. This goes for $16.80. This is quite a nice sized sample. I'm pretty excited to try it. It has papaya enzymes and well I tend to like things that has mango/papaya ingredients in it, so I have high hopes for this!

The last item is a Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream. This goes for $14. Glossybox why in the world do you have us fill out a profile if you won't even follow it? I get it, this is a subscription box. I'm not going to like every item I get. Every month won't be the best. But this is the second item 2 months in a row that I am going to give away. I don't need an anti aging product! I know all about prevention, but I really don't want to start any type of prevention until I'm at least 20! I just I don't think I'd care so much about not following a profile, if there was no profile, but there is a profile so I care.

I'm sorry I didn't take a group picture. I ended up cancelling my Glossybox subscription. It's a bittersweet ending. On one note I'm happy to have $21 a month to spend on something else, since yeah every month I get my money's worth, but at the same point there are always at least 2 products I don't really like, and I haven't been too impressed with any of the recent boxes. The bitter part is that Glossybox was my first box and they will always be a bit special. Oh well I guess it's just time to say good bye.

I would still totally recommend Glossybox. For me they've always had great CS and I've never had a problem with any of the boxes. It's just more of what the actual items are type of thing.

  1. The lip salve is very sheer! I was worried, too. It feels good on, glossy and very little color.
